Treatment,
Hospitalization, and
Hospice

When every day is ruled by uncertainty and wrenching reality, it can be hard to honestly take in what's happening.

You look around and will yourself to remember every little thing

There is enough pressure on you. I'd like to help you by documenting what your family is experiencing. When you tell these stories years later you'll have the photographs to prompt you and bring everything back.

It's one of the hardest things you've ever done and also one of tenderest and most compassionate. Supporting someone you love through this is an enormous gift for both of you, and it speaks to the trust, care, and commitment you offer each other. That's something that is stunning to see from a different perspective.

it's hard to believe it's real

It's strange how time can pass slowly and quickly at the same time. The boundary between what's real and what is imagined feels fuzzy, and the days blend into each other.

Your care is important. You are worthy of it. You are not a burden (and if it ever feels like that's the case it's likely because the people supporting you aren't receiving the support they need).

You are managing the work of getting through the day, and your perspective is important. Photography can show that. It can also wrap in the story from the perspectives of those who are caring for you and show you things you may not have known about.
